Vânia Pereira Machado is a PhD Candidate in Migrations at  University of Lisbon.  She has a degree in Anthropology at Universidade de Coimbra (2012). During this degree, she attended an exchange program of one year to the department of Anthropology at the UFSC (Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina), Brazil. 

Since her Masters in Anthropology with specialization in Globalization, Migration and Multiculturalism at ISCTE-IUL (2015), she has focused mostly on Anthropology of Consumption and Food both in migratory contexts (Portugal and Brazil).  Additionally, she also has a post-graduation Data Analysis in the Social Sciences and she also has explored specifically recent migration flows from Portugal to Brazil, EU and Australia.

Research interests: food, migration, consumption, material culture.
